Introduction
Who Runs the World?
Not girls and women. They’re the majority of the global population but have the least rights, and the reality is stark. There is no place in the world where girls and women experience total equity and equality. Girl Up is training girl leaders to advance gender equality in more than 120 countries around the world.

The Power to Transform
No matter their background, girls have the power to transform themselves, their communities, and the world around them. Girl Up is a global movement of empowered young women leaders who defend gender equality. Through leadership development training, Girl Up gives girls the resources and platform to start a movement for social change wherever they are. For those who stand with us in this movement, there is no rest until we achieve equal rights for every girl. Girls are powerful. Girls have limitless potential. Girls can change the world. And yet in certain places around the world, girls continue to lack access to opportunities.
Equality is a Movement, not a Moment
Achieving global gender equality won’t be an easy task, but it’s worth it—because investing in a girl means investing in her family, her community, and our world.
