A special message from Executive Director Melissa Kilby on COVID-19

Read our statement here

  1. Story

Girl Up is a global community working together for gender equality, and as the outbreak of COVID-19 continues to unfold around the world, the health and safety of our Club members, staff, and partners remains our top priority.

We have been closely following the public health guidance of the World Health Organization (WHO), U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and relevant national and local authorities.

In coordination with our UN Foundation leadership team, we’ll be exploring ways to continue our important work while adapting to evolving guidance. This is a fluid and dynamic situation, and we’re staying up-to-date with recommendations from the UN and other partners.

COVID-19 has affected regions where we live and work, but not our resolve to keep advancing equality around the world. With the safety of our community top of mind, all applications and registrations for our summer events will remain open, but our plans may change as the situation develops. We appreciate your flexibility at this time. Thank you for your commitment to this mission.

We’re in this together.

Be Well,

Melissa Kilby
