Fundraising
Lead Locally.
Fuel the Movement Globally.

Fundraising with Girl Up is about power and possibility — in your community and across the globe. You can organize a fundraiser for a local cause you care about (like a women’s and children’s shelter in your city) and you can fundraise for Girl Up to expand our youth-led movement worldwide, reaching more changemakers like you! Both paths advance gender justice on a global scale.

Our fundraising platform, GiveButter, is a safe & secure method to tell your Girl Up story & collect donations across a variety of currencies.

Choose Your Path (Or Do Both!)

Every fundraiser powers our movement!

Fundraise for Your Community
Organize a fundraiser for a local cause, like donating menstrual hygiene products to a women’s shelter or school. Every Girl Up leader knows that change starts close to home!

Bake sale • School fair • Art show • Local 5K • Benefit concert • What will you dream up?

Fundraise for Girl Up
Raise funds for Girl Up to expand our youth-led movement worldwide. A birthday or graduation fundraiser in place of gifts fuels leadership training, mentorship, and advocacy for girls everywhere.

Birthday drive • Graduation campaign • Peer-to-peer challenge • How will you give back?

For my 18th, I swapped gifts for donations to Girl Up. Watching friends join in from around the world reminded me that activism travels.

Why Fundraising Matters

Fundraising with Girl Up is more than making a gift — it’s organizing power. When you launch a fundraiser, you rally your community around gender justice, build real leadership skills, and turn shared values into resources that fuel impact. Your efforts can do both: support a cause close to home (like a local shelter for women and children) and power Girl Up’s global movement—training, connecting, and amplifying youth leaders worldwide. Choosing a birthday or graduation fundraiser in place of gifts is a bold way to stand with girls everywhere and expand what our movement can do next.

Girl Up leaders have already helped raise more than $10 million—and every campaign, big or small, moves us forward. Whether you fundraise online with Givebutter or host something in person, we’ve got your back with ideas, templates, and tips to get started.

Where do funds go?

Club fundraising supports advancements of rights, access, and opportunities for girls globally – from right here at home, to the hardest to reach girls globally through our partnerships with the UN, and everywhere in between.

Our fashion show funded emergency supplies for a local shelter and gave students a platform for youth voices.
