In honor of the global 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign, Girl Up’s Mental Health and Wellness Youth Advisory Committee co-collaborated on a project with artist, MILCK, on her recent short film, I Can’t Keep Quiet.
The short film, I Can’t Keep Quiet, tells the story of MILCK and her journey as her song became a global anthem for the #MeToo movement and the 2016 Women’s March. While time has passed, the themes of the film still ring true:
- Art as a Means of Activism
- Strength in Vulnerability
- Healing Through Storytelling
The Mental Health and Wellness Youth Advisory board came together to watch the film, meet with MILCK, and create a film discussion guide for the global Girl Up community.
This guide is made by youth, for youth, with the hope that Girl Up members around the world can come together during these 16 Days of Activism to learn, discuss, and connect.
